This Chinese Yok Fun dipping sauce is a great condiment to go with Chinese Steamboat, plain Rice noodles or with Wonton soup.  This sauce has incredible taste created by the sweetness of the caramelized onions, the spiciness of the ginger, the garlic flavorings and the blend of sauces. No wonder it has become a favorite among our guests!

Chinese Yok Fun Dipping Sauce Ingredients

The dipping sauce is a must have at the Steam Boat parties and gives the food its flavor.

  • 3 tbs soya sauce
  • 3 tbs oyster sauce
  • 1/4 tsp ginger chopped fine
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbs water
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 tbs chopped garlic
  • 4 tbs olive oil

Chinese Yok Fun Dipping Sauce Directions

  1. Fry onion in 2 tbs oil until golden brown and caramelized.
  2. Add in garlic and ginger, stir fry a few minutes.
  3. Add in sauces and water and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat and whisk in the remaining oil.
  5. Adjust taste with salt and pepper.
