Thanksgiving Harvest Turkey Cupcake Instructions
- Take an orange Tootsie Roll, unwrap, and microwave in oven for 5 seconds on your highest setting. This should make it soft and pliable. If not, microwave another 5 seconds. Take out of the oven and use a rolling pin to make flat to about 1/8″ thick. Set aside.
- Do the same with a Pink Tootsie Roll. When you are finished rolling it out, cut off a small shape of a feather. Lay on top of the orange Tootsie Roll you made in Step 1.
- Now that you have both layers of candy on top of each other, roll them out. This will make the two piece stick together.
- Cut out in the shape of a feather.
- Repeat Steps 1-4 with the other 4 feathers.
- Take a Reese’s Pieces Cup Candy and using a spatula spread some chocolate icing on the top half of the Reese’s Candy. Stick the 5 feathers in the back in a layering fashion like in the picture.
- Let dry or harden in the freezer.
- Take a yellow Starburst candy and cut off two small corners. Roll them in your hands to form eye balls.
- Cut a small corner from an orange Starburst candy. That will be the beak.
- Use a small piece from a pink Tootsie roll to make the Turkey’s caruncle, the red outgrowth on its face that turns bright red when the Turkey gets upset! Roll the Tootsie roll in your hands like clay and form the caruncle.
- Use a small tip to pipe a bit of icing to stick the eyes, beak and caruncle onto a fun-size Snickers bar.
- Ice the cupcake with chocolate icing.
- Take the turkey feathers out of the freezer and position it in the back of the cupcake. Use 3 skewers to hold the feathers in place.
- Position the Snickers body in front of the feathers.
- It’s done! Time to gobble it up!
