As kids get older and become teens, party planning becomes more casual and relaxed (except for the formal celebrations like quinceañera, mitzvahs, etc.) Parties and activities tend to be more fluid and can change by the minute.  Teens can be just as happy ‘hanging out’, playing video games, watching a movie, or just chatting.  Just make sure you do have plenty of food and drinks around to fuel the hungry teens!

Teen Party Invitation Time:

The best time for a teen birthday would be anytime in the afternoon or in the evening.  Teens like to sleep in and value their sleep more than anything so for that age group if you need to schedule a day time party, like a pool party or paint ball party, afternoons are best.  For any other theme parties, late afternoon or early evening are acceptable party times as well.

Teen Birthday Party Duration:

Teen parties can last as long as a few hours to an all night affair.  Teens can stay up all night if you let them and for that reason sleepovers are so ironic because no one ever sleeps at sleepover parties!

Teen Birthday Party Guests:

So who to invite? Usually the teen will decide that if it is a casual party.  For more formal birthday celebrations like quinceañera (15th birthday), sweet 16, bar or bat mizvah, parents or the person(s) footing the bill will have an influence on the guest list.  For these traditional celebrations usually close friends, family members, acquaintances also make the guest list.
