Indian Theme Recipe - Cauliflower Peas Ginger Stir Fry
Serve this easy Cauliflower Stir Fry as a side dish for an Indian Theme Party.  The cumin seeds and ground coriander gives this dish a nice citrusy flavor and a subtle taste to the light vegetable stir fry.  Easy to prepare minutes before serving your meal or prepare in advance and have warming in the oven.

Cauliflower Peas Ginger Stir Fry Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 3 tbs vegetable oil, like safflower or canola
  • 1 tbs ground coriander
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 inch of ginger root, peeled and sliced into thin slices
  • 1 small head of cauliflower, cut into small florets (discard center)
  • 2 cups frozen green peas (don’t thaw)
  • 2 tbs water
  • 1/4 tsp garam marsala
  • salt

Cauliflower Peas Ginger Stir Fry Directions


Step 1. In a large skillet, heat oil, coriander, and cumin seeds over medium heat.  Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cumin browns and becomes fragrant.  Add the ginger and stir fry for 1 minute.  Add cauliflower and peas, stir to cook for 5 minutes.  Add 2 tbs water and then cover and let cook for 10 minutes longer.

Step 2. Uncover the pan, increase heat to high and cook stirring occasionally for 2 minutes.  Add the garam marsala, stir for 1 minute.  Adjust with salt and pepper to taste.
