Ring Toss Game | Birthday Party Game

Another classic and popular game at fairs, birthday parties, Carnival Circus parties, Pirate parties, Luau Party, or Beach party. Set up is simple and can be done with virtually any kind of stick. Here is a version for a luau party or pirate theme party.

4 long bamboo sticks
8 pieces of foam
4 bamboo long containers
Large colored rings
Red tape for labeling bamboo
Bamboo posters for background (optional)
Leis (for Hawaiian Luau Parties)

Ring Toss Birthday Game Directions

Step 1. Place a large piece of foam into the vase or container, making sure that it is a snug fit and that the foam does not move around. Stick bamboo stick into the center of the foam.

Step 2. Cut extra pieces of floral foam and stuff them inside the vase on the sides of the bamboo stick so that there is a tight fit and so the bamboo stick will not move around.

Step 3. Repeat Steps 1-2 for the 3 other containers and sticks so that you will have 4 ring toss sticks in total.

Step 4. Get the red tape and label points for each stick. Stick 1 – 5 points, Stick 2 – 10 points, Stick 3 – 15 points, and Stick 4 – 20 points.

Step 5. Place a red line about 4 feet away as the starting line and place the sticks in one line at equal distances away from each other, about 2 feet. Place the stick with the most points furthest away from the starting line, and place the one with the lowest point, closest to the starting line.

Step 6. (Optional) If you are playing this game indoors, decorate the walls with bamboo pictures or scene setters to give it a bit of luau or tropical ambiance.

How To Play The Game:

Player stands behind the starting line and gets 3 large rings.
Player throws rings at bamboo sticks and tries to get the rings around the sticks. Count up the scores for each player.
Give out prizes depending on who gets the most points.
Variation: A variation of this game for a Hawaiian Luau Party is to use leis instead of large rings to toss onto the sticks.
