Step 2. Fold the fabric so that you have 2 layers and enough fabric to have 2-3 inches around the pillow. Mark with a pen or pencil. Cut the fabric out.

Step 3. Place the pillow between the layers with the right side of the fabric facing out. Fold in the seams as shown. Use a hot glue gun to close off the seams. If you would like to stitch this instead, turn the pillow case inside out and stitch the seams on three sides, leaving one side open. Turn the pillowcase back out with the right side facing out and place the pillow inside. Fold the seams in and stitch the edge closed.

Step 4. Cut out a diamond shape piece of felt and glue to the outside of the pillow.

Step 5. Get the black felt and cut out a clover or spade shape. I actually had this leftover piece of felt that resembled an elongated pawn piece (if you squint real hard you’ll see it) and decided to make something out of it. It turned out OK which was a relief since it was actually all the black felt I had.

Step 6. Glue your final creation to the top of the red diamond et voila! C’est fini! Well let’s hope the Queen of Heart likes it otherwise it, otherwise she’ll be screaming “Off With Her Head”!
Optional: The red ribbon shown in picture 1 (above) is an optional decorative step that you can add at the end, when the pillow is covered. Make 4 bows and glue/stitch to each corner.
