Pirate Ship Sandwiches Ingredients (1 sub)
- Download Pirate Sails (free)
- 2 Wooden Skewers
- Three 6-inch unsliced French-style rolls
- Yellow mustard
- 6 ounces sliced pastrami, cooked ham, roast beef, turkey or hotdog
- 3 slices cheese (provolone, mozzarella or swiss)
- 3 lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato cut in slices
- 6 pretzel rod sticks
Pirate Ship Sandwich Directions
- Slice up the roll along the side. Spread the inside of the bun with mustard and/or mayonaise.
- Divide meat and cheese evenly among the rolls. Add lettuce and tomato wedges to each sandwich. Cut sandwich in half before serving during your pirate party, luau party or mermaid party.
- Print out Pirate Sails and white regular 8.5″ by 11″ photocopy paper. Cut out Pirate Sails.
- Use the two skewers to poke through two sails. Insert into sandwiches. Repeat again for the second mast.
- Put 3 pretzel rods on one side as oars, and insert into sides of sandwiches. repeat for the other side.
- Place on a large serving platter.
- Optional: Add clean toy pirates toys or Lego Pirates
to the top of sandwiches.
- Caution: If you will using the mast and paper sails on a birthday cake, do not place candles on the cake. Instead perhaps use rolled Pirouline
cookies instead of pretzels as oars and stick in candles into them to make them look like canons.
Makes 2-3 servings.
