Mexican Nachos
![]() |
Mexican Nachos are easy to prepare and a great dish for older kids to make or just to assemble as a snack, for sleepovers, movie time, or as an appetizer for a Mexican Theme Party. Some supervision will be required for using the stove and the knife if they will be making the dish themselves. |

Easy Mexican Nachos Ingredients (serves 8-10)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup prepared salsa
- 2 cups tortilla chips
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Easy Mexican Nachos Directions
Step 1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
Step 2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef for 8-10 minutes until it is cooked throughout. Drain in a colander and to get rid of extra oil, I go to the extreme of even rinsing the beef. Drain the beef, then place it in a large bowl.
Step 3. Add the salsa, and mix well.
Step 4. Chop the tomatoes and onion (if kids are cooking, get an adult to help), and shred lettuce into small pieces. Place in a separate small bowls.
Step 5. In a 2 quart casserole, layer the ground beef and the other ingredients starting at the bottom:
- Tortilla chips
- Sour cream
- Ground beef
- Onions
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Shredded Cheese

Step 6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes until the cheese completely melts. Let the nachos cool a bit for about 10 minutes. Spoon salsa on top, and dollops of sour cream.
