Mardi Gras Paper Mache Mask Directions
Step 1. Take a large piece of foil and fold over to make double layer. Place over face and mold.

Step 2. Place foil over a bowl. Tear small strips of newspaper and dip into paper mache.

Step 3. Paper mache recipe: 1 part flour and 2 parts water. Mix well. Dip strips of newspaper in and take off excess. Drape over foil in overlapping method. Let dry. If you wish, you can add a second layer of paper mache once the first layer has dried.

Step 4. Some supplies needed for the next step: purple card stock, confetti, purple streamers, and green paint.

Step 5. Paint the bottom of the mask green and sprinkle green glitter over.

Step 6. Take strips of purple cardstock and layer on the top portion.

Step 7. To create a feather effect, tear large strips of paper in an even motion and glue to the top of the mask. The paper will start curling as you rip.

Step 8. Glue on glitter, beads, streamers and any embellishments you like. The masks are now ready as centerpieces, table decor or to be worn at your Mardi Gras Party!
