Kids Birthday Party Invitations

As kids get older they start to understand the idea of birthday celebrations and what fun things are associated with them.  The excitement starts from the beginning when it is time to select a birthday theme and with that, a birthday invitation.  Get your child involved as little or as much as possible.  It could be simple things like having them pick a birthday theme, writing out invitation details, signing their name, sticking on the stamp for the invites, or just taking a walk to the mailbox to send off the birthday invitations.

Kids Birthday Party Invitation Time:

The best time for a birthday party for younger kids and toddlers would be in the morning (10:00 am – 12 noon) or in the afternoon after nap time (from 2:00 – 5:00 pm).  For older kids, any time would work.  If the birthday is around lunch or dinner time, it is almost expected that food will be provided as well.

Kids Birthday Party Duration:

For younger kids, the party should not last more than 2 hours.  For older kids, parties spanning two to three hours is fine.  Just remember, the longer the party, the more activities and food you will need to keep guests entertained.

Kids Birthday Party Guests:

So who to invite?  For kids kindergarten age, it is not unusual to invite the whole class to a party.  Your child may not know too many kids at that age or have a specific preference for certain kids.  As kids get older, they tend to be more selective and vocal about the guest list.  Gender preference also come into play as well at a certain age.  Let your child take the lead on this one and help guide him or her with the guest list.
