- 8 Sheets of Tissue paper

- 1 Flower wire or twist tie
- Scissors
Tissue Hibiscus Flowers: Directions

Step 1. Stack Layers – Unfold the layers of tissues and stack 8 layers of the same colors together.

Step 2. Pleat – Fold and pleat the stack of tissue layers together from one end to the other end in a fan-like fashion. You may have to use your fingernail and crease the edge once in a while so the pleat stays in.

Step 3. Secure – Secure with a twist tie in the middle. Tuck the ends in so that they are not visible.

Step 4. Cut – Use sharp scissors and cut the corners of the ends off by cutting through all layers. If you have too many layers you may have to cut a few layers at a time, like I did. Try make the end look nice and rounded.

Step 5. Open Up The Petals - Once you have done cutting the ends, open the flower up. Unfold all the layers gently so that all the individual tissue layers now simulate the flower petals of a flower.

Step 6. Simple Tissue Flower. You now have a finished tissue flower! Use tissue flowers to decorate the table or party room on tables, as part of the chair decor, or hang them overhead over the party table with invisible fish line.
To make a large simulated Hibiscus flower for a tropical themed party, continue to Step 7.

Step 7. Stamen. Take a 2 brown pipe cleaners. Twist the bottom together and curl the top of each end of the pipe cleaner to make them look like a stamens.

Step 8. Attach Stamen. Bend open the two pipe cleaners into a straight line and place the center of the tissue flower in the center. Loop the pipe cleaners around the middle of the flower and twist together to secure the flower in place. The flower is now sandwiched between the top and bottom of the stamen. Position the stamen so that it is straight and stretches out from the center of the flower.

Other Color Variations: You can do the same with other colors of tissue papers to come up with a different Hibiscus variations, like red (for Red Hibiscus), yellow on the outside with an orange tissue in the center (for Hybrid Hibiscus), creme colors (for an off-white Hibiscus for weddings), etc.
The tissue colors are very easy to make and with just a little bit of expense you can get a lot of color, pizzazz and punch for your party decoration!
