Valentine Craft Series: Heart Sachets

Creating Valentine’s crafts doesn’t have to be complicated or extravagant. The thought and time that went into creating a craft will always be appreciated over mass-produced products in a factory! This simple sachet is an easy craft to make with kids and yet another example of a practical gift. A great gift for grandma or mom for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day! |
Heart Sachet Supplies :
- Pink Satin Fabric or Red Satin Fabric
- Pink Ribbon or Red Ribbon
- Yarn thread in red and pink (tassle)
- Felt in colors of pink, white or red (center of the sachet decor)
- Small colored beads in pink, white or red (optional for decor)
- Fabric Glue
- Thread
- Needle
- Potpourri
Heart Sachets:
- Take a piece of 8″ x 5″ pink or red fabric or felt. Fold over length-wise so you have a double layer of 4″x5″ fabric.
- Cut out a heart through both layers so that you will now have 2 pieces of fabric hearts.
- Sew sides together, making sure right sides are together. Leave a small opening unstitched so that you can turn the two sides right side out again.
- Turn over and fill with fragrant potpourri.
- Stitch closed and attach a ribbon hanger in the middle top of the heart.
- Decorate the heart with fabric, embroidery, gems or beads. Use fabric glue to attach the embellishments.
- Make a tassle using yarn, and then add it to the bottom of the sachet.
