Instructions: Hawaiian Luau Flip Flop Invitation
Step1. Measure your envelope. Next, measure and cut out blue turquoise card stock about 1/2″ smaller in length and width than your envelope. Do the same for the orange card stock. Measure and cut out about 1/2″ smaller than the blue turquoise. Then trace a template for the flip flop the size of the orange card stock making sure it fits. First trace out the outline of a flip flop on a piece of card stock. Cut out the flip flop shape using the hot pink card stock.
Step 2. Next, cut out two 2-3″ ribbon to make the flip flop. Use a hole puncher to punch a small hole on the top part of the flip flop. String both pieces of ribbon through and secure with glue. Secure the ends to each side of the flip flop at the bottom. Decorate the top of the flip flop with embellishment. I love these embellishments created by Brenda Walton. Check out her blog for some design inspirations and her bio.
Step 3. Glue the flip flop onto a contrasting card stock. Make sure cardstock (orange) is about 1/4″ smaller all-around than the pink (main) card stock that is going to follow in step 4.
Step 4. Glue the rest of the card onto the hot pink card stock. Use colorful markers to write the name of the Guest on the inside of the Flip Flop. The card is done!
Step 5. Now for the Luau Party Details. Type up the invitation information (occasion, date, time, etc.) and print them out on regular paper. If you desire you can also use quality card stock to print this part out. Make sure the size of your printout matches the size of the Flip Flop invitation. Print out and glue the party specifics to the back of the invitation. Don’t know what to write? Check out a few samples.
